Dog Training in Corryton, TN: Help for Anxious Dogs and Reliable Off-Leash Obedience

Training for Corryton dogs

Corryton is a Knox County community northeast of Knoxville. Corryton Park (7737 Corryton Road, near the library) has a 0.2-mile paved walking loop, a playground and a ball field, and it is open dawn to dusk. It is the kind of place where a dog that pulls or reacts around other people will show it.

When noise and anxiety run the walk

Many dogs that struggle on walks are not stubborn, they are anxious. A sudden noise from a house or a car can make an anxious dog freeze, bolt or refuse to move. Fixing it means building the dog's confidence and giving it a clear job and routine. Our behavior rehabilitation and separation anxiety pages explain how we approach it.

A Corryton dog we have trained

• Mack, pit mix: Mack had bad anxiety and could not walk past a house where he had heard a loud noise, and he did not always listen. He is now a well-rounded dog his owner can trust off leash.
