Dog Training in Alcoa, TN: Leash Manners for the Greenway and Everyday Life

Alcoa dogs and the Alcoa-Maryville Greenway

The Alcoa-Maryville Greenway offers more than 18 miles of paved trails through Alcoa and Maryville, and the City of Alcoa notes it is popular with visitors who bring their pets. A paved, shared path like that is exactly where weak leash manners show up: other dogs, strollers, cyclists and joggers all pass close by.

What a good greenway dog can do

• Walk on a loose leash without pulling toward other dogs or people
• Pass strangers and bikes without lunging or barking
• Stop, sit and wait on command at crossings and trailheads
• Come when called, so you stay in control as the dog gains freedom

Alcoa sits right next to Maryville, so many of our Alcoa clients use the same routes and places as our Maryville clients. Our puppy training gets young dogs ready for this kind of public setting.

K9 Services Unlimited is based in Loudon, TN and serves Knoxville and the surrounding towns. Training typically starts at your home and moves to nearby public places once your dog is ready.
