Day Training for Dogs in Knoxville, TN
Day training is professional dog training that fits around your workday. Your dog is dropped off in the morning, spends the day in focused training sessions with our trainers, and is picked up in the afternoon or evening. K9 Services Unlimited offers day training for dogs of all ages in Knoxville, Farragut, Maryville, Loudon, Oak Ridge and Lenoir City.
What day training covers
- Essential obedience commands: sit, down, place, heel and recall
- Leash manners and loose-leash walking
- Impulse control and calm manners
- Focus around real-world distractions
- Puppy foundations, including crate and potty routines (see our puppy training program)
How a day training week works
Dogs are dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon or evening. Each week includes a one-on-one private lesson on Friday so you stay involved in your dog's progress, and weekly homework keeps the results holding up at home, around the neighborhood and out in public. Our obedience training page has more on the program.
Day training or board and train?
Day training lets your dog sleep at home and suits owners who can drop off and pick up each day. If your dog needs a full reset away from home habits, or daily trips do not work for you, our board and train program may be a better fit. Request a free consultation and we will help you choose.
Owners are part of the training
A trained dog only stays trained if the owner knows how to handle them. Because many behavior problems are reinforced by the people around the dog, we teach owners the same skills the dog is learning, from timing and consistency to how to practice at home.
